If you’re a regular visitor of my website…actually, let’s face it, you likely weren’t. The It’s WPTom site has spent years waiting for some due care and attention—until now! It’s been a slightly soft launch, but I’ve worked on dragging my online presence into the modern age for your needs.

A great place to start is what the site has to offer now compared to before.

What you’ll find on the new It’s WPTom website

I admit, the old version of the site didn’t give you much reason to return. Other than a page that outlined my basic service offerings, there was a contact form, and a little bit about me. There were logical reasons for the barebones web presence and those reasons no longer apply. This is why I’m proud to showcase the new It’s WPTom website.

If you’re already working with me, you’ll recognize your impact throughout the site. There are showcases for the actual work we’ve done together and the services reflect how our collaboration has evolved beyond basic content writing. This redesign also means clearer documentation of my processes and it’s easier to share aspects of the site with colleagues who ask about your content strategy.

It’s more thorough and all-encompassing than the previous iteration:

On that last point, the choice selection of posts from various WordPress websites is already more detailed thanks to the extra ‘commentary’ outlining some of my thoughts on the work. However, it’s not the only way to discover how I can help you develop an SEO content strategy that increases your visibility. More on that later though.

Why it’s taken me five years to update the site

So, the old site was minimal and poor. The original iteration was simply a placeholder as I began to build a client base and start working. However, there are only so many hours in the day and, as it turns out, a lot of interest in the SEO content marketing I’ve offered (this is my 11th year in the industry).

As such, 2021 turned into 2022 and beyond without much in the way of updates. It was practically a static calling card, without even a portfolio of work! Quite honestly, that was the biggest faux pas I made, although it hasn’t ever stopped the demand for my marketing services this whole time.

In reality, the site was ‘good enough’. As 2025 started though, I really didn’t like the presentation, the lack of content, and the passivity of the site in general. After a few years, my tastes (and the technology) have changed. Adding to this, business needs are also changing rapidly: for instance, I’ve been offering more in the way of SEO and strategy advice rather than simply creating content for a while now.

Let’s take a tour around some of the new additions to It’s WPTom

All of the above means I’ve finally done something to showcase how we’ll work together on your SEO content strategy and marketing. Of course, I’d insist you walk around the block and uncover what the new It’s WPTom site has to offer, I also want to show you some of the new areas and why I’ve added them.

Client stories

This is really the center of the whole site. I’ve worked with many of the biggest names and businesses in the WordPress industry, yet I’ve never told the stories of why. Not only that, I’ve never discussed what I actually do in the way of giving out first-class SEO content. Enter the client stories:

My services run the gamut from simple content writing, all the way up to strategizing on design and optimization. I’ve been wanting to showcase this for some time: now you can read about my processes, discover why other WordPress businesses choose me for the job, and find out just how much impact having a dedicated SEO content marketing expert on your team can have.

These stories show the kind of long-term partnerships I love to build. If your business also needs this level of strategic support and technical expertise, let’s talk about what we could achieve together.

An expanded (read: more detailed) services page

The SEO Content Strategy page needed expanding with relation to the services I offer, as it only had a focus on content writing before. I’m more diverse in scope, as you’d expect in 2026. It means I’ve got details on several different ways I can help your business improve its visibility in search, such as entity management (crucial for being mentioned in AI search results and SERP snippets).

I’ve also thought for a few months on how I price my services for modern needs. While I do still charge per word, I’d rather work to a set fee or retainer as this helps you plan your budgets out better. I’ve toyed with adding explicit pricing to the SEO Content Strategy page, but for various reasons, I don’t think it would be valuable. Getting in touch will mean we can figure out what you want to achieve and decide the budget it requires.

The AI declaration policy

The AI Declaration Policy page on the It's WPTom website. It shows a number of sections containing descriptions of various ways in which AI is used within the business.

This is not something I see anywhere else and I don’t understand it. I’m acutely aware that budgets need to go towards the best possible value. I’d also be foolish to dismiss the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Large Language Models (LLMs) on global business and culture. My personal opinion is that generative AI is not beneficial for many people, although there are some fantastic use cases within a professional realm.

The sensitivity around whether a piece of writing is AI is also not lost on me, as I feel it too from both sides. The idea behind my AI declaration policy is twofold:

  • I want you to understand how I (as a one-person business) use these tools while working with you.
  • I’d go as far as saying it’s critical for me to let you know that the work you pay for is produced by me and not a generative AI engine.

It’s vital that I give you the biggest ‘bang for your buck’ possible, but this does not mean giving you ‘AI slop’ that costs pennies and pocketing the rest.

Peace of mind, especially when you can only stretch your marketing budget so far, is important for us all. Paying for top-quality SEO content means I have to research, work on, and publish that content. As such, these sections in combination with the SEO Content Strategy page and the client stories, you’ll have a well-rounded vantage point of what we can achieve together.

What to expect from It’s WPTom in the future

I know, I’ve spent a few hundred words essentially saying, “I have a new website!” I’m proud of it, and am excited about the potential working relationships we’ll all have going forward. I’m hopeful of adding more to the blog, showcasing work in the form of newsletter updates and client stories, and having more engagement overall. I’ve also got some cool ideas about how the site develops, which shouldn’t take five years to implement!

If you’re looking to make a wise investment for your business, developing a content marketing and SEO strategy to become more visible is a sure-fire maneuver. If you’re a current client reading this: thank you for trusting me with your content strategy so far! Regardless, I’d love to talk (or see your face!) about the work we could do to help you be seen in search.
